SCRAPS Project

Posted on

Hi Everyone,

I’m believing all is well with you all as it is with me. I’m thankful for God’s Grace and Mercy towards me allowing me to see another day.

I was Blessed to be offered some scraps a year ago and the giver wanted to know what would I do with such little pieces? My answer to her was I’m a believer of waste not want not and creativity never ends.

Here’s a quick finished project of my belief:
A Jean Vest I purchased for a reasonable cost and simply cut out the best design from the scraps and the cut outs added on by hand. I do have another round of sewing  before the completion. I’m taking time off from machine sewing and doing some sewing by hand.

A few PICS:

Summer Project #1

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are well, and Blessed as I’m. I’m truly grateful to God for HIS goodness towards me, and strengthening each day HE allows me to see.

I would like to share my first Summer Project which I made for my daughter. I’m believing she is going to like this surprise.

The dress is made from a leftover fabric  from another project, and I was Blessed with another fabric from a friend which I used as lining. Thank you Doreen!

UPCYCLING Projects

Hi Everyone!

Hope all is well, and Blessed as I’m along with being so grateful. I just wanted to share my recent upcycling projects which God has truly Bless me by His Grace and Mercy giving me the strength, courage, and materials to have it sewn and completed.

I was Blessed by one of my WordPress friends, and followers to have given me lots of beautiful fabric scraps. I decided to use some as well as others from my collections with these projects.

From an old pair of Jeans Pants I cut off the upper, and added a quilt like style to form this.

Being that I like my clothes to be lined a lining was added.

Next Project: From an old Jean Jacket I cut off the sleeves, button closure flap, collar, and the waist flap of the jacket. Here is the FRONT:

Here is the BACK:

Next Project: A reversible bag.
The button closure from the jacket is being use here as closure for the bag. The flap from around the waist is being use as a handheld strap.

MIXED P R I N T S

Hello Everyone!

Hope all is well, and Blessed with you all as it is with me. I’m both grateful and thankful being able to see this day, and being strengthened through God’s Grace and Mercy.

I will like to share my most recent Sewing Project which was very challenging for me. This is my first ever Fully Lined Garment. All thanks to GOD for making it all worked along with patience, and determination.

My Granddaughter inspires me with sewing more these days. She compliments me with each and every project I make. She likes watching me sew and actually wants to try using the Fabric Machine as she calls the Sewing Machine.

The dress is made from two different fabrics.

image

The most difficult task in sewing this dress was the lining which I wanted it to look reversible. Also for the first time was machine gathering. Here’s the Fully Lined/wrong side of the dress.

Here’s the right side of the dress.

I believe in waste not want not. I had some fabric leftover and thought why not upcycle one of My Granddaughter’s Sweaters. Kindly excause the color variation of the camera. The pics were taken at a different time.

Out of both sleeves I was able to get four patches, for a scarf.

The last piece I was able to sew a Tote Bag.

SKIRT & Tote Project

Posted on

Hi Everyone!

Hope all is well, and Blessed by God’s Grace.  I’m most definitely Blessed by HIM each day HE allows me another chance to see another day.

I was Blessed with this Beautiful Printed Fabric by a friend a while back. I finally made something out of it. The fabric was just enough for this project, and to be creative with what I already have.

The project is for my granddaughter, therefore a pair of her Old Jeans was made into a New Skirt, and a Tote Bag.

The preparation:

CUT JEANS PANTS

NEXT, I cut two pieces of the Printed Fabric to be stitched in the middle of both front, and back of the bottom cut pants for the Drawstring Skirt.

The upper part of the Jeans Pants will be made into a Tote Bag.

Here are the Finished Projects:

NO Pattern, Theme, & S C R A P P Y

Posted on

Hello Everyone!

Hope all is well, and Blessed as I’m. The quilt I’m about to share is one I truly like because it is in a class by itself. It has no theme, style, pattern, and the color is sort of faded. As soon as I can get more scraps/fabric for the backing it will be completed. I started this quilt before the previous one.

Now that I’ve a little more idea of quilting, by the time this quilt is finished this side will probably become the back. Kindly feel free to comment letting me know what you think. Thank you in advance.

Here it is! Truly Novice & Scrappy.
